Have I become a workaholic

At least I can admit it. Nevertheless, it won’t change a thing. I actually feel kind of arrogant saying that about myself, but it’s true. Ever since I landed this job my one focus has been to constantly do work – even at home. I haven’t even done the technical side of the job in full-force and I’ve mostly been doing content marketing for the team I’m on, as it’s what the team has needed me to do. The reason I’m even bringing this up is because I was actually going to work overtime today (I have worked overtime for most of the week) until the rest of the team told me to leave with them. My stamina seems to fluctuate

I’ve just taken a shower, after having exercised in the park for around 40 minutes, and I feel as though my stamina fluctuates. Some days I can run for longer periods and some days I’m absolutely flustered. In all of my runs I try to push myself and I can usually keep going for a longer period of time, so perhaps I’m pushing myself too hard when exercising? Whatever the case, I’m on track to losing weight and hopefully by the end of next month there will be a significant difference. However, unfortunately I’m just doing cardiovascular exercises, so I’m unsure as to whether or not I’ll look like a rake after a couple months. 86kg to 84kg! Weight lost!

I’ve lost weight! This year I weighed around 86kg after putting on weight when my sister left Taiwan. She visited for like a month and during that period I did not exercise. Before my sister arrived in Taiwan, I exercised every single day and sure enough I was doing well. But, boy, when my sister came here she really increased the amount of food I was eating. We would always be eating something and her eating habits slowly drifted onto me. I was begging not go to any buffet restaurants, as I also wanted my sister to lose weight as well. Weight loss journey from 2010 – 2013

Losing weight has always been something that I’ve wanted to do, but that I’ve never done until recent. I didn’t use to be overweight (I’m not overweight now – as I write this) and at one point I could run for as long as I wanted and was one of the best long distance runners in my school year at secondary school. Fitness update

Let’s just say that while my sister has been in Taiwan I’ve gained weight, as I’ve been going out and eating at restaurants and I simply have not had enough time to exercise. However, I’ve changed all that; now that my sister has returned to the UK I’ve started exercising again. Today, I pushed myself and I ran around the track 14 times without stopping at a fast pace; it took half an hour to do that as I was really pushing myself. I just weighed myself and I only gained 3kgs, so it isn’t as bad as I thought it was — as I originally thought I had gained 7kgs; that would really have been a disaster. So, weighing myself now I weigh 86kgs where at my peak I got down to 80kgs, however that was long time ago....

Now doing morning exercises

Let’s just say I’ve done my own personal research, just like in school, except less physical and less challenging. Instead of exercising in the evening, I’m now exercising every morning. I just started this morning and as always I have taken advantage of the park I live near. Having done evening exercises I feel that it has messed up my body’s internal clock, as I can no longer sleep the times I used to. I also have become more often unable to work up in regular hours. Evening exercises does not seem to be the right thing for me. Trying to sleep at around 12PM and being not able to sleep until 3 a.m is not a good thing at-all. Absolutely wrecked after a workout!

I’m absolutely wrecked after a tough workout running around the local park, which is quite big in circumference. At first it was a hot and sunny day and I was sweating like no other, I felt dirty and typically out of breath after running around the park twice. Then, out of nowhere, a big bang occurred and that was possibly a lighting strike, striking something or someone in Taichung somewhere. A few minutes later it was pouring down with rain, almost at the same rate sweat was exiting my body after the tough exercise I was doing; which I explained about before. I feel as if I’m back. Slow down in terms of exercising…

Quite obviously, I have not been able to exercise as much as I have wanted to, seeing as I had that tiny issue with my leg. It has been around a month since I had that operation and now I can walk properly and also run. Last Friday, I started running again and I did swimming and running last weekend up until now. It feels as if I have lost all my stamina as I can’t run as far without breathing heavily. For example, I went to the racing track today and I could only run around the track for 15 minutes before feeling really tired. Had an operation on my leg last week!

As you can see from the x-ray image below, I had a small operation on my leg, and the operation occurred on the 23rd of May, on my right ankle. The operation took place at Changhua Christian Hospital, the surgery was good and it wasn’t too expensive. However, it was just minor surgery; essentially they pulled out the titanium screw in my leg that I had in there for around 4 years after braking my ankle playing football. They said that it might lessen the pain when I walk, but I got the idea they were just going on a hunch, or it was actually as if they were following procedure as the screw had to come out anyway. If you know me, you’d probably have added me on Facebook and likely would have seen the x-ray scans of my leg/foot/ankle. Ever since I came to Taiwan, I have exercised a lot and I mean a lot. I was on a strict diet and my goal was to lose 16kg. I achieved that goal in 3 months of planning it. I exercised everyday for an hour, doing cardiovascular exercises to lose the weight that I had gained from eating too much in England. I lost the weight I wanted to lose and to be honest I looked good so I was satisfied with what I had achieved.
