So I have come a long way since I first came to Taiwan. I’ve lost over 16KG and I was literally obese. Although some would still call me obese now *cough*, my girlfriend, I am not as fat as I used to be. Here is a pic of me sitting down:

Although it may seem I’m still fat, my body looked nothing like this … 4 months ago. I was overly fat and now I’m not so fat, so I’m kind of proud and the target I set and the way I am now.
However now it is time to build up muscle, I’m going to do 30 press-ups per day, every night and lift ups when I can. I’m also trying to eat more healthy food.
Hopefully I’ll be able to post a picture of a big change in comparison to the photo above; soon.

McDonald’s in Taiwan have recently introduced a new product line called the McIce-cream Nugget. Essentially, an ice cream cone with a piece of chicken plopped in the middle of it. (The chicken can be found in other products such as the “6 piece , 8 piece or 20 piece nugget box set” said a statement from a former McDonald’s employee)
If preferred add tomato sauce or barbecue sauce for extra flavoring.

“Mc Ice Cream Chicken/Nugget” – Goes on sale for $100NT.
Naysayers say that this form of mixing ice cream and chicken could potentially inflict a damaging disease. – Which hasn’t been around since 1840, sparking fears of major disasters within the McDonald’s community.
However our reliable former-McDonald’s employee, who has been around McDonald’s food for 10 years has also said, “Although there are fears of disease, people should not be worried, life is too short anyway’s…” in a non-official statement. It might also be noted that he weighs 250lb’s and was recently featured in the “Fat Weekly” magazine in Taiwan.

It makes you think that friends are important. You only realise what’s missing when they are gone. The same happened with my girlfriend and another Korean friend called SongYi, it only hits you that it just isn’t the same when they aren’t there anymore. A friend I’ve known ever since I’ve come to Taiwan is leaving back for Indonesia, these are a few photo’s of her last day with us in Taiwan. She leaves in approximately 2 hours time! I hope the best for her! 🙂

To put it lightly, not very much.
As previously stated in another blog post, it was Chinese New Year or Lunar New Year as Taiwanese people would prefer you to say, so I stayed around my parents apartment for most of the time. We visited my cousins, uncles and other relatives on one occasion and celebrated Lunar New Year.
However, mostly in the week, my parents and I stayed at home– and I of course enjoyed my mothers great cooking; plus I didn’t really spend much. (So I saved a bit of money in that sense)
My relationship with my girlfriend is still strong, we speak to each other almost everyday for a few hours and that still doesn’t satisfy me. 😀 Not seeing her face, holding her hand and not being able to talk to her is very depressing. I guess she is the match that lights up my life. (That was probably the strangest analogy, I’ve come up with)
Today probably was the highlight of my day, considering I had pizza with my good friend “Jun”. My mothers friend gave me a sh*t load of pizza, chicken and potato. So I shared it with my friend considering the fact, I would not have been able to have eaten all of it.
Tomorrow, is the start of learning Mandarin, as I’ll have my speaking and listening class as well as my writing class as the holiday finishes up. I didn’t really study much, however I studied the grammar for the most part for the upcoming lesson and a few characters for the lesson thereafter.
Also another update, my sister is coming to Taiwan. I guess I was becoming a little bored of Taiwan as it was becoming very samey or without any variety. Just the same old, same old and not particularly doing anything different. – It gets boring after a while. Although with my sister coming, hopefully that changes for the better. I suggested to my father we take her to this place called Kenting, which I’ve wanted to go to on numerous occasions; however have never found the time. This means missing some Mandarin classes, which is fine, considering I haven’t seen my sister in over a year.

Yesterday, I turned up to Feng-Chia for the first time in 4 days and all I could see was a sea of people. Previous to the four days, everything was calm and relaxed and there was hardly anyone on the streets or around the night market. It was as if things had ‘died down’ a bit.
I guess it is the Chinese New Year/Lunar New Year holiday which has caused this vast increase, in the amount of people swarming the night market of Feng-Chia. Here are some pics: (They aren’t good pics as there were too many people and I couldn’t really just stop without blocking anyone behind me)
