Mordeth13 Seriously Injured in Motorbike Accident

by | Nov 23, 2014 | Updates

I lived in Taiwan for 2 years and used to watch Mordeth13’s videos on a regular basis. I stopped due to work commitments, life in general and because I just stopped using YouTube to watch people talk about their lives. But for the period that I did, it filled a void where I had nothing better to do; I could simply open up a video and find something interesting about someone’s life. Watching any of Mordeth13’s videos was purely for entertainment. He’d be riding around in his scooter or motorbike talking about his day as a foreigner living in Taiwan. I sort of felt like a foreigner, even though I’m half-Taiwanese, so I felt like in some of his stories there were connections of where I experienced similar encounters. One thing about Mordeth13 is that he is mysterious and doesn’t share too much info regarding his personal life, except that he has an incredibly cute son and a loving wife.

However, something bad happened to Mordeth13 recently and he was involved in a serious motorbike accident on a tour he was doing. On Monday 17 of November (not the 14th as stated in his FB post), Mordeth explained that he crashed into a small partition wall when just for a moment he took his eyes off the road. He then went flying off his bike, “35 feet” into the air and plummeted into the pavement on the lower road. His injuries sound devastating; he’s lost half his left hand and broken both his ‘upper legs’. I feel bad for his future and his family’s future. He has a cute little son called JD who is fucking awesome:

He’s currently asking for donations from people via Facebook. I’m going to donate what I can when I next get paid. It’s absolutely heartbreaking though to see him like this:

He’s also actually never showed his face before this, as mentioned in his Facebook post. But you can just see from the injuries that he has sustained that this is very serious. The nice thing about Taiwan is that the initial treatment will most likely be free, but there will be costs involved such as staying in a hospital bed, buying a wheelchair and high costs involved for recovery, further treatments/operations and more. On top of this, he has a kid and wife to take care of financially. His main job is making these YouTube videos and earning money from advertisements. Obviously, now that he is in this state, there is no flow of income likely to be coming in anywhere other than those donating money to him. He’s a genuinely nice guy and has in the past donated to those that needed money, but I guess now it’s now time for others to do the same for him.

If you’d like to donate, go to his website and find the ‘donate’ button that leads you to PayPal and his PayPal details will show up:

I promise to donate at least £15 if not more. He’s getting a steady stream of donations at the moment via reddit and the Facebook post. I hope that he gets way more than what he needs. I really can’t imagine what he is going through right now.

Finding a place to live in London

Finding a place to live in London

I've been looking at moving house and very recently found a place. But unfortunately the deal fell through as the landlord decided that they he would favour a member of his family in place of me. This is a small setback, but just means I'll have to live where I'm...

Work Is Tiring Me Out

Work Is Tiring Me Out

I seem to be constantly thinking about work and it's getting quite hectic at work as we've won new business. I'm likely not allowed to talk any further than this about work, but I'm certainly feeling the heat. I was reading this BBC article before about stress and it...

Yes!! I can present!

Yes!! I can present!

Public speaking has never been my strong suit, and it has always tormented me a little as I've always wanted to be good at it. A week ago my manager asked if I could present in front of 30 people that had recently joined the company and had gone on the graduate...

Took a day off work today

I've been infected somehow as I had to miss a day of work today. I've been a complete mess since Sunday. Friday evening was fine. Saturday... well, was also fine. Aside from the fact I fell down the stairs with a plate in my hand. I had to go out and buy a new plate....

Lloyds Bank just closed my Cash ISA and took all the money

I’m a little shocked actually. I logged onto internet banking to find that my Cash ISA with Lloyds Bank had become as if it were non-existent. It simply wasn’t there. The £2k that I had in that account was also missing. You can imagine my surprise when I opened up...

Dentists are insanely expensive in the UK

Dentists are insanely expensive in the UK

£53... My dentist appointment today cost me £53! That's crazy. It was for 3 x-rays that cost me £24 (£8 per x-ray) and a general upfront cost of £30. It's no wonder why us Brits have a bad reputation when it comes to our teeth. I also tried seeing if whether my...

What travelling into London was like today

What travelling into London was like today

The tube strike affected me dearly, and it will in the coming days as well. I'm actually dreading my journey back home - as I write this. It usually takes me half an hour to get into work from Stratford to Tottenham Court Road (Oxford Street), but today it took me two...

Opened up a Cash ISA and Credit Card Account

Yep, it's true. I've gone ahead and done it. I have opened myself to debt and a life of monetary despair. I'll now be poor forever paying back whatever credit I've borrowed from the bank using my delicious credit card. On the other hand, I've also opened up a Cash ISA...

Weight timeline from 16th of December to now

This post was meant to be all about my fitness and health; however, I've had to shift this towards a more distracting matter. It's to do with living in a house share. I have mentioned this issue in specifics in an article entitled "5 Reasons Why I Hate House Sharing"...

My Music Picks of the Week

I work in an office and listening to music really stops you from going crazy. I'm thinking of doing a weekly blog post of my music picks for each week. I really need somewhere to manage it, whilst also benefiting this site so that it actually gets updated more than...
