I know very few people who’ve made it out of gambling. Around 3 years ago I lost around £1,000 on a gambling website, after being up £300.
I panicked as I was losing my money playing poker, thinking I could regain it all in the same way I had been able to gain (Win) £300 originally. So I continued until my metered amount went to £0.00. It was devastating and I nearly thought of committing suicide. But that obviously wasn’t worth the cost, I’d have to lose everything I owned before I could do anything as serious as that.
Determined to make my money back, I started gambling again and I made my £1000 back and called it quits. I made my money back playing poker and just decided I’d stop there. It wasn’t worth the risk of going through all that again. But if you really know how to play poker then you should try the game online and if it works for you then you must set a limit.
Before gambling always plan before hand:
- Work out how much you can afford to lose. (SET A LIMIT) Don’t make bets any larger than the money you can actually spend. Please, do not use a credit card as you’ll end up losing another person’s money or some bank’s money at interest.
- Behave sensibly when gambling, although taking big risks might be all about what gambling is, can you afford it?
- Maintain control and think before you do.
- Set a certain amount of time you want to gamble.
- Know how to play the game, otherwise the game will play you.
- Do not try and recover any losses immediately. Trust me, you’ll make bad decisions that way.
Just be aware that the game is meant for the dealers to make the money, otherwise these big casino websites wouldn’t be raking in as much money as they’d like and it simply wouldn’t be profitable for them.
So is gambling a good idea?
From my perspective it isn’t. However, if you know how to play the game and you just want to have some fun and you can control your spending, then I see no problem with it at-all. Just don’t become addicted to throwing your money away.

Okay, so I have read up on this and heard opinions on both sides of the argument.
Predominantly religious people say being gay is wrong in the first place, so of course they’ll object to the marriage of two people of the same gender. But that’s their religious opinion speaking out there.
So before I go any further into explaining any argument, I’ll say this: I don’t believe in religion which also means I don’t think religion should be involved when it comes to any sort of politics which effects the public.
Places like Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia and other countries not just in the Middle East are good examples for the world to look at and to see why religion shouldn’t be involved.
Religion clearly has not stepped up fast enough to a changing mindset and world which thinks gay marriage will in the end become a right. – Just my opinion. I really do believe that gay marriage will become a right.
But I’ve heard arguments from religion saying it is unnatural, which then leads to arguments saying why you shouldn’t be allowed to marry your cousin or close family members. – As by law in most Western countries it is illegal to marry close family members due to the issues that come with inbreeding; such as birth defects.
But then I guess you are going argue to that those 2 close family members may not have sex, although unlikely, which is probably why there is a law for that. I kind of see it as a method of controlling whether or not birth defects would take place due to inbreeding, as by making it illegal and that throws that question out the window or simply it tries to prevent birth defects.
Now, people would say that gay people bring AIDS and HIV to the medical argument, but this is simply not the case when one uses appropriate protection. Where this is simply not the case when it comes to inbreeding as there is no form of protection, other than deciding not to have sex. So the medical argument doesn’t throw me off one bit.
Then you’ll lead to the argument that gay people cannot reproduce, and thus will cause the extinction of the human race. – Even though by some margin the world is growing significantly by population and there are millions of children who have no parents. Surely in that respect a gay couple would do more to look after that child than an orphanage would, and in other respects they could be potentially better at parenting than straight couples. – I don’t see how religious people can miss details out like that, yet claim that gay people are potentially bad parents when straight parents can be what they describe in a bad parent.
Why must a child have a father and mother when brought up?
They can never back that up with fact. I browse Reddit while at work, and it was beautiful as I saw a person who had just graduated from University next to her parents who are both men. It seems she has done well for herself and that her parents did well in bringing her up and educating her. Can this be said about a lot of parents who are straight? The answer to that is yes but then there are those parents who are actually bad parents; it doesn’t come down to whether you are gay.
In the end it comes down to the individuals that bring up the children, it doesn’t factor at-all in my opinion, whether they are gay. Gay parents doesn’t suddenly equal: bad at parenting. That is clearly the wrong definition of ‘bad parenting’ which religious folk like to slander on about gay people/couples. At the end of the day, I think it is bigoted to look down upon gay people and to involve religion into public law by saying “that’s wrong” because my religion says so.
When opinions evolve…
Quite a few decades ago, you wouldn’t have had any public support for the right of gay marriage, but in a free-thinking society opinions evolve and people start to change their minds on issues like this.
They don’t look to religion as the answer to everything and they form their opinions when society changes and things that weren’t acceptable become more acceptable.
But I think it is bigoted in every sense of the definition for governments like the UK’s to not allow gay marriage based on religion. – When that same country and even other religions within that country denounce the treatment of gay people in other countries.
It’s time for everyone to start evolving their way of thinking and not hold back the rest of us who want to advance without religious opinion getting in the way.

I wrote an article about this around two weeks ago, and website security is paramount, especially so when leaving your website unattended for a while. I did this an faced the consequences of having my sites hacked/cracked and I regret neglecting my website in such a way, as it was such a pain to sort this mess out.
I lost a lot of my Google rankings in search results, which hit my traffic big-time, however considering I don’t worry about that much it isn’t much of a problem. However, for others who won’t know how to fix an infected site, it is better to totally re-install whatever script you’ve got installed. For example, most of my websites run on WordPress, and when my sites became infected as I hadn’t updated the latest version, the best thing to do was totally re-install my WordPress installation. – This takes care of the following:
- You can be at ease and know that whatever virus which has infected your site has been removed. So as long as you have totally replaced all your files, other than your images in your WordPress installation.
- You get rid of any back doors the hacker may have injected into your website because of any script vulnerability.
Trust me on this, don’t neglect your website. It is much easier to first take care of your website rather than have to worry about it later, as it will become much harder to ‘fix’ the longer you leave it.

I’ve recently just experienced something which has inundated my experience as a person who runs websites that are online. Security is a big thing and as soon as you let your guard down, there are people out there who will go out of their way to find ways to exploit websites which haven’t been updated. i.e. Easy targets
Since I’ve been working full-time, my main website armour.ws faced a few attacks from people trying to upload .html files which contained phishing websites, mainly or only to do with banks.
I first noticed this when my web host informed me and when Google also informed me. I’m not surprised at-all if they’ve penalised my website. But all that matters is that I’ve secured my website.
I’ve totally re-installed WordPress on that site, backed up everything again, looked at the MySQL database for any anomalies and I’ve started anew with the design to ensure that it wasn’t the theme/design causing any cracks in terms of security. I’ve also installed a few firewall scripts for WordPress, essentially a tool which will scan all my files for any anomalies.
I just let my guard down, stopped updating my website and suddenly I find myself being attacked. Now things should be okay, but I’ll say something, it would have been a lot easier to keep my site updated from the start. I spent most of the day making modifications, backing up, optimizing the MySQL database and changing a few aspects and fixing a few things on the website itself.
I will also stress, as would other experienced webmasters, MAKE BACKUPS constantly. You never know when you’ll need a backup to help you out of a disastrous situation.

I haven’t posted in a while as I’ve been working and literally have no energy to come up with anything to write on this blog anymore.
My daily experiences are almost robotic. I look at code all day long and have to check for errors, verify them and create new code. This week I looked at 3,000 lines of code and to be honest, I was tired all of that week. The week before, I looked at around 6,000 lines of code. I was a little more energetic then. But I have kind of slowed down a little as I’ve become a little tired.
The worst thing is making typos and purely errors without noticing it before submitting any file I’ve modified or created for review. The mistakes really get to you as they are the most obvious mistakes in the world. However, when you are constantly creating new files, it is easy to get distracted and your eyes start becoming lazy. – You will then not notice the smallest of mistakes which may or may not occur.
Coffee is a good remedy for this, and know I why everyone drinks it. To stay focused.
I’m not a very focused person as it is; having ADD definitely doesn’t help, especially when not on any medication.
I’m not a complainer, and I think things will be alright. What else is there to hope for?

Finding a swimming pool, or at least a decent swimming pool, in Taichung is quite a feat if you don’t know where to look. I found this great place where it’s pretty decent and cheap. A good combination if you don’t have all the money in the world and you perhaps want to swim or relax on a frequent basis. Swimming is the epitome to travelling and you need to at least have an experience of some sort swimming wherever you are in the world.
This swimming centre includes a pretty decent spa along with other swimming options. Although, when I went to Dong Feng Swimming pool, it seemed as if it focused mainly on the relaxing side of things. So perhaps after work or on the weekends you can go to this place for the sole purpose of relaxing. Or if you need to exercise then swimming is the perfect exercise as it practically exercises all of the muscles in your body.
I recommend this place 100%! If you have kids then this place is perfectly adequate to accommodate them. In fact, they have safety gear for kids who want to swim and they have shallow pools where they can swim safely without the worst occurring.
However, the kids can be sometimes quite annoying when they splash water on your face without the consideration of others who are trying to actually relax after a hard day at work or something. I’ve had this on a few occasions where kids were trying to swim in the spa section; the two don’t fit together.
If they want to swim, splash around and whatnot, well then, they have a huge swimming area specifically for them to do that. Who could blame them though, as they designed the swimming areas poorly in that respect, as they built a small playground area for kids too nearby to the resting and relaxation area. – However, the two are connected, making it hard for kids not to disturb and generally be kids. That’s a huge flaw.
I digress that it isn’t much of an issue. On the odd day, you do get a large amount of kids in the swimming centre, although I believe that most days the swimming centre generally doesn’t have that many kids and most are people of the older generation.
The price
The price is probably the biggest factor when it comes to deciding whether or not this type of relaxation/exercise is too expensive or not.
For me, one ticket to gain entry into this place only cost me $100NT. (Although, for this deal you have to pay $500 and also have a student ID upfront and you get 5 tickets) There are other membership options, which I’ll find out about. However, for this specific deal, I used my student ID when I was studying some Mandarin at Feng Chia University. If you have a friend who’s studying at a university or who is a student and can prove it, then bring him along and you’ll also pay the same price as me. Otherwise, I believe the cost for a single ticket for those who are not students is around $200NT. – While not being much different in price, it can soon add up, so I would try to find a student to come with you and you can purchase as many tickets as you want, or even a one month membership deal based upon the same pricing a student would pay if you brought along someone who is a student.
